Existing, natural then everything else…

Our approach means our process might differ slightly from other engineers’.

There is a lot of thinking to be done to make the best structure possible from any design. We focus on working hard upfront to avoid delays on site, when it is most costly.

The more we can learn, sooner - the better the design, detail and result.

For each project, we must:

• Fully understand and interrogate the Client’s brief - what do you actually want? And how do you want to do it? We will help you work out the answers to these questions.

• Fully understand and research our site, existing buildings, materials, neighbours, services, constraints. How do these impact on what we want to do and how we want to do it? Spending time on-site now will be paid back 10-fold in avoiding changes and problems during construction.

• Develop the design in detail with the Client, Architect and other consultants.

• Create clear and concise information that communicates exactly what we want to be built, to boost understanding on-site and give us the best chance of smooth construction.

• Support construction. On site, tweaks and changes will need to be made - our proactive response to these is what keeps the build going.

• At the final walk around of site, we’d love to be there to support you.
