AntiFurniture

Performance artist Fyodor Pavlov-Andreevich's first UK museum solo presentation opens at @designmuseum in London September 26 (will run until Oct 29)

Antifurniture is lost somewhere between the amusement park and an airport security checkpoint. A collection of large design objects turned interactive sculptures will be scattered throughout the museum’s atrium, mezzanine and garden - either placing the visitor’s body out of step with its surroundings or making the circumstances outright uncomfortable. These will be sculptures people can climb into, hang from, hide within, and temporarily inhabit. Sculptures of protest against the global world, of solidarity with those who are cut off from us, of relief from fear. The exhibition will be admission free. I’m beyond grateful to my crime partners: @bond_architecture who brilliantly co-designed the sculptures with me, @oficinasaojoao who thoughtfully fabricated them, @bailissandco who does all the structural engineering, @bochavar who works on the display architecture and @treivas who gave this whole saga a great start.
